Pakistan hit their worst Test ranking in nearly six decades following a shocking 2-0 series defeat to Bangladesh, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Wednesday.

Bangladesh secured a six-wicket victory in the second Test in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, marking their first-ever series win against Pakistan.

"Pakistan has dropped from sixth to eighth in the Test rankings after an unexpected home series loss to Bangladesh," the ICC stated. This marks Pakistan’s lowest position since 1965 in the 12-team table, led by Australia, with India and England occupying the second and third spots, respectively.

Bangladesh now ranks ninth in the latest standings.

Pakistan’s bowling also took a hit, as no bowlers remain in the top 10 after Shaheen Shah Afridi slipped to 11th from ninth. In the batting rankings, Mohammad Rizwan is the sole Pakistani in the top 10, while Babar Azam fell three spots to 12th after scoring just 64 runs across the two matches.
